Seville, more than 38 °C, no breezes in sight. The Vision in the south of Spain kicks off.
The LG Seville provided a week-long agenda of workshops and company visits revolving around their „More than energy“ theme, giving insight on the production of organic fuel and renewable energies.
Two members of LG Siegen dared to hop on the plane to hot Seville to receive updates on the latest techniques and developments at names as CESPA, one of the biggest spanish suppliers of oil and gas and other research facilities.
The production of 2nd and 3rd generation organic fuels, occurring problems in handling the organic material and the cycle from oil to fuel – everything was covered in this Vision event. Renowned Professors were not only giving presentations but were also available for discussion providing even deeper insights.
Very fascinating was the company visit at Airbus Military and their final assembly line of the A400M, one of todays most advanced cargo planes. An aviation engineer showed us around and explained how such a big company can gather modules from all over the world and put them together to form such a complex machine.
Besides all the academic content, the culture of Spain and Seville itself were also properly regarded. Seville being a fiercely fought over city in the past, today has lots of historical buildings and interesting stories to offer. Fans of the TV-series „Game of Thrones“ can also visit some of the shooting locations such as the beautiful royal gardens of Alcázar.
If paella with fresh seafood or the delicious Jamó Serrano, most of you already encoutered Spain on the menu. We were able to try all their cuisine and make out our personal favorites!
